MYSTERIOUS MOSAICS

What could be more bohemian chic than mosaics? They're gorgeous, glittery & exude a mysterious allure. In addition to being a seemingly jewel encrusted piece of art the humble mosaic has become a must have accessory for decor in general & bohemians alike.

Mosaics are associated with rich & opulent textures with bold colour combinations( a bohemian lovers dream) traditionally, however the traditional use has been turned on its head, mosaics are now being paired with black lacquered wood & mat textures. In fact even classic contemporary homes can now boast to have a mosaic serving bowl or vase alongside silverware & fine china. Bringing a little bit of sensual bohemian into the most traditional of homes.

Mosaics need not set you back! do things the trendy(thrifty)bohemian way, make your own. Truly its not as intimidating as it sounds. Any hardware shop/store should be able to help you out as to what bonding materials, glue & sealants you will need. The best part about mosaics is that you can use almost anything:old cups, mirrors, chipped china, old beades neclaces & of course tiles. Get creative(you are a bohemian after all!!)

Prehaps you might want to consider this as away to create something precious for your family eg: a beaded bracelet from when your daughter was a baby mosaiced onto a photo framw as a wedding present. come on.. be brave, although having said that, youre a bohemian after all, of course you are brave!! I would love to know what you have created.
